Night town negombo

December is the best time to visit Negombo, when many tourists from other countries come to Sri Lanka to enjoy the warm weather and escape the cold winter in their countries. This small beach town near the International Airport in Katunayake is a perfect place to enjoy the calm and relaxing atmosphere of the island.

A gentle sea breeze blows across the beach while many people gather to spend their evening there. Families come together to play games and spend time with each other in the soft evening light. Young people play beach volleyball and cricket, while others sit by the water and let the waves touch their feet. Pony rides are also popular, and many people enjoy trying them. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, and the happy voices and laughter of people can be heard everywhere.

You can see catamarans sailing into the sunset, which is a very beautiful sight. If you like, you can also relax near the traditional fishing boats that return to the beach at the end of the day. The beach here is wider than in many other places, making it perfect for a slow walk or even a jog while enjoying the sights and sounds around you.

Tourists also enjoy the friendly atmosphere where they can relax and enjoy the beauty of Negombo beach. Some take photos while others simply sit and enjoy the peaceful moment.

As evening turns into night, bright food carts filled with tasty snacks slowly arrive on the beach. Different types of hot vadai such as plain vadai, prawn (isso), crab and fish are prepared fresh. Manioc chips and samosas are also fried while you watch, attracting many people walking along the beach. The spicy and crispy snacks fill the air with wonderful smells. You can enjoy these tasty snacks while walking around the town.

There are many restaurants along the road and near the beach. No matter where you choose to eat, each place offers a special and different experience.

Street Life

At night, Lewis Street and Poruthota Road, which run alongside the beach, become full of life and colour. Lights turn on and lively music can be heard from the many restaurants along the streets.

Tourists slowly come out of their hotels to explore the area and try the different types of food available. The street offers food from many countries including Sri Lankan, Italian, Swiss, German, and Chinese, along with fusion food, BBQ, grilled dishes, and pub food. Many restaurants line both the road and the beach, and each one offers something unique. Bands start playing and different kinds of music fill the air.

The sounds of music, people talking, and vehicles moving create a lively and exciting atmosphere. You can even rent a scooter and easily travel along the busy streets to find the perfect place to spend your evening.

After enjoying a wonderful dinner, you can walk back to the beach through the small lanes that connect the streets to the sea. From the edge of the ocean, when you look back at the land, you will see a beautiful view of shining lights and the shadows of coconut trees moving gently in the night breeze. It truly looks like a perfect picture.
