10:00 AM – Arrival at Kalpitiya Kite Center
Welcome to the kite school Get introduced to your instructor and receive briefing on the session plan.
10:30 AM – Lesson Begins (Up to 5 Hours)
Your instructor will customize your lesson based on your level
Theory Session: Understanding wind, kite zones, and weather
Gear Setup: Learn how to rig, launch, and control the kite
Hands-On Practice: Kite piloting in the lagoon (2-line and 4-line kites)
Safety Drills: Learn how to self-rescue, relaunch, and manage wind conditions
1:00 PM – Lagoon Break (Flexible)
Rest and refresh mid-lesson. Water and shade provided. Lessons are paced based on comfort.
3:30 PM – Session Ends & Debrief
Wrap up the lesson with a summary of your progress and next steps. Photos/videos can be arranged on request.
4:00 PM – Optional Return Trip or Stay Overnight
Begin return to hotel or stay in Kalpitiya for further lessons or kite packages (multi-day plans available).
Bring sun cream, sunglasses (can also be bought on-site), and booties if you have sensitive feet
Wear quick-dry swimwear or boardshorts and a rash guard
Stay hydrated and take breaks as needed – it’s a physical sport!
Bring your GoPro or waterproof camera if you’d like to capture your progress.
